SSAF Rebate

If you're a Monash University student you may be eligible for a $50 rebate on your Monash Sport membership. This is thanks to the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) funding dedicated by Monash University.

To qualify for this rebate, you must meet the following qualification criteria:
  • Must be an active Monash University student.
  • Must have held or currently hold an eligible Monash Sport student membership for at least 3 months in the academic year.
  • Not available to members already receiving a discounted Monash Sport membership rate (this includes MRS/Mannix and salary sacrifice members, promotional members, etc).
  • The rebate payment is available to full paying students only, and is not available to community, staff, or salary sacrifice members.
  • Although there are two distinct application periods, successful applicants will only be paid once during the calendar year. i.e. a student is only eligible to receive one rebate per year.
  • Applications will be processed twice per caledar year, and the conclusion of each Semester. To apply for the rebate, please click on the campus where you purchased your membership below:

Semester 1 applications will close on Sunday 31 May. Successfull applicants can expect to receive their cheque within a month of applications closing, provided all details have been entered correctly.

New Fitness Centre Layout at Caulfield

Over the summer break staff at Caulfield decided it was time to reconfigure the Fitness Centre to ensure safety and a user friendly environment where all users could access the equipment as well as access the areas allocated for other activities such as stretching, TRX and some circuit based training without feeling hemmed in.

We also added new mirrors which have certainly added to make the Fitness Centre look and feel more spacious and to add some flexibility to our useable space.

We hope all our members appreciate the new, more spacious layout.


Points of Interest:
  • Modified gym equipment layout to better suit training methods and improve safety
  • Installation of additional mirrors in the gym
  • New set of Kettle Bells - 8, 12, 18, 20, 24kg
  • New Weight plates arriving soon
  • New digital clock with interval training features
  • Installation of tiered seating in Chisholm Hall
  • Updated recreation equipment - soccer and netball goals along with new wall padding
  • New Change Rooms
  • Redevelopment of the Caulfield campus Green Space to include multi sport venue, water feature and student social/study areas

The Caulfield Green

Many of our members may have already noticed the works happening to The Caulfield Green.

The project is well underway outside the front of Monash Sport Caulfield, and is expected to be completed around July.

Once finished, the Caulfield Green will offer all users at Caulfield a great place to congregate, meet, socialise and in general develop a real central campus community focus.

At present the works are on schedule but please be mindful that some access restrictions are in place around campus. In other words give yourself a little extra time to find that carpark and a little extra time to access  certain buildings on Campus.

Access will not be restricted to the Monash Sport facilities; all sport facilities will be operational as usual.

Changes in the Chisholm Hall

Replacing the Stage in the Chisholm Hall 

UPDATE: 

The new tiered seating in Chisholm hall has been completed 1 week ahead of schedule. Spectators and hall users will now be able to watch the halls activities in comfort. One big issue that has always been present in the hall was a lack of spectator viewing; The new space will also create another meeting place where students can engage one another whilst on campus.

Plans are in place and monies made available for the immediate dismantling of the stage area in Chisholm hall. 

A tiered seating area will replace the stage, that will make viewing of all our sports and other user activities in the hall much more enjoyable, accessible and safer.

One big issue that has always been present in the hall is a lack of spectator viewing; this will certainly alleviate this issue. It will also allow all to just pop in and just chill out, another meeting place where students can engage one another whilst on campus.

 If all goes to plan this new and exciting edition to Monash Sport will be completed by the end of week 1, just in time for the beginning of the 2015 Social Sport competition calendar

Workout of the Week and Monthly Member Challenge now at Peninsula

You can now enjoy our Workout of the Week and Monthly Member Challenge at Peninsula! 

The Workout of the Week will be displayed on the board inside the gym, with the results of the Monthly Member Challenge next to it. To participate in the challenge, please talk to one of our health and fitness instructors.

All members are welcome to take part in both.

Mix up your fitness routine with our Workout of the Week!

Our Workout of the Week service allows members to participate in a different training program each week, which can be done independently or in conjunction with your individual program. The Workout of the Weeks varies in focus, training styles and intensity making them the perfect way to add variety to your training.

What is the Monthly Member Challenge? 

Test yourself against other gym members in order to compare and improve your strength, endurance and cardio fitness in our Monthly Member Challenge. There are separate challenges for males and females, and you can participate anonymously if desired. Challenges rotate between a muscular strength test, a cardiovascular test and a muscular endurance test.

Semester 1 Social Sport Registrations Now Open

Social Sport registrations are now open at all campuses!

We offer the following competitions:
  • Women's and Mixed Netball
  • Indoor Soccer
  • Open and Mixed Basketball
  • Badminton
  • and Quickfire Sports!

Competitions begin the week of March 9 with the season running for approximately 12 game weeks including finals finishing no later than June 4.  There is no competition during the mid-semester break 6 to 10 April.  Please note Monday competitions will play on Labour Day March 9.
